New Class of Biomaterials
Westbrook Weaver is the founder and Chief Executive Officer at Tempo Therapeutics. He received his PhD in Bioengineering from the University of California, Los Angeles. During his post-doctoral work in the departments of Bioengineering and Chemical Engineering at UCLA, he was a co-inventor of the foundational MAP material technology of Tempo. Originally on track to build his academic career, he left in 2016 to lead Tempo, believing that his greatest impact could be made in developing products from this core technology and delivering these therapies to patients. Westbrook has secured a team with deep biotechnology experience and continues to drive a trajectory of growth for Tempo as a platform technology company. He has built and continues to grow a network of key physicians, biotechnology entrepreneurs, and advisors to support Tempo. After growing up in Alabama, Westbrook spent his undergraduate years at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA where he received a degree in Biomedical Engineering and Biological Chemistry
