The next Virtual BPF Seminar, "Microproteins and the Dark Proteome: challenges, opportunities, and potential applications", will be held Tuesday, March 12th starting at noon EDT (9:00 AM PDT, 5:00 PM CET). We will be hosting Dr. Sebastiaan van Heesch (Group Leader, Princess Máxima Center for Pediatric Oncology) and Dr. Mar Albà (Professor, Hospital del Mar Research Institute and Catalan Institute for Research and Advanced Studies (ICREA)), who will each present their work with the emerging field of microproteins that originate from noncanonical sites of ribosome translation. A moderated panel discussion and Q&A session will follow each presentation.
**EXCITING ADDITION** The March VBPS will feature additional panelists weighing in on various aspects of this topic. Special guests will include Thomas Martinez (UC Irvine), John Prensner (Univ. Michigan Medical School), Li Zhao (The Rockefeller University), and Jonathan Mudge (EMBL-EBI).
Registration is free, and can be completed at Virtual BPS | Boulder Peptide Symposium. *Note* you must be signed in to the site in order to sign up.
